Alistair was first elected to Stirling Council in 2003.

From 2007 - 2013 he was leader of the Conservative group, and from 2012 - 2013 he was Deputy Leader of Stirling Council.  He has been the Council's Education Convener since 2012.

He lives in Stirling with his wife, and they have two grown up children.  He works as a Radiation Safety Officer for a FTSE 100 engineering company.
