Raploch Nursery

Raploch Nursey has received widespread praise from the Care Inspectorate in its latest Inspection Report.

An unannounced visit by the Inspectorate took place last month. The nursery was rated as ‘Very Good’ in all areas that were inspected, including quality of care and support, as well as quality of management and leadership.

The Care Inspectorate commented that children were happy and confident in the nursery.

The report concluded that staff have a very good knowledge and understanding of the needs of children and their families. Gaining positive life skills was done in a creative way, with children ordering fruit and vegetables to sell them to their parents and carers as a way of developing enterprise abilities and improving number recognition skills.

Parents and carers surveyed during the visit described the quality of service as ‘exemplary’, and nursery staff as ‘excellent’ and ‘welcoming’. The number of activities children can participate in, which include Big Noise, soft play and outdoor trips, was also highlighted.

Stirling Council’s Education Committee Convener, Councillor Susan McGill, said: “We welcome this very positive report from the Care Inspectorate. This is a testament to the hard work that the great team at Raploch Nursery have put into ensuring that children here have the best start in life. Well done to all.”

Raploch Nursery is located within the Raploch Community Campus and provides early learning and childcare for up to 96 children. It has consistently received high marks from the Care Inspectorate since its first Inspection in 2008.

The Care Inspectorate regulates care services in Scotland with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of all children receiving a care service. Measures they examine when looking at childcare services include: safe; healthy; achieving; nurtured; active; respected; responsible, and included.
