Festive service delivery arrangements 

  • Customer First on Port Street  is open 27th & 30th December 9am until 3pm.
    and will re-open on 3rd January 2014 9am - 5:30pm  %attribute~alt:21291%
  • The Contact Centre will operate 24/7 as normal to deal with enquiries and emergencies.  
  • Housing services will finish on the 24th December and return on 3rd January  2014 the Contact Centre will deal with all emergency calls for repairs and homeless
  • Stirling Council Archives close at 3 pm on Tuesday 24th December and re-open at 9 am on Friday 3rd January 2014.

Bandeath Dog Shelter

The dog shelter will close at 4 pm on Tuesday 24th Dec, Christmas Eve, will be open Friday 27th Dec to Tuesday 31st Dec and will close at 4 pm on that day through to Friday  3rd Jan 2014

If during this time your dog is lost there will be someone taking calls between 9am - 11am Christmas day, Boxing day, New Years day and 2nd January.

Teams operating from Stirling and Wallace High School are affected by school closure (Monday 23rd December - Friday 3rd Jan inclusive) during this time they will be operating from Municipal Buildings (apart from Municipal Buildings closure dates - see above) 

Social Service Mental Health and Hospital Services teams will be operating from Municipal buildings between Monday 23rd December and Friday 3rd January inclusive.

Riverbank Resource Centre

The Riverbank Resource Centre will close on 25th December and remain closed through-out the Christmas and New Year period, re-opening on Friday 3rd January 2013.  This will affect service users who access Streets ahead and service users and visitors to the Riverbank Resource Centre.

Prepared Meals

For customers receiving Prepared meals, Wiltshire Farm Foods will contact Service Users directly to advise of Christmas and New Year arrangements.  

Food train

Letters will be sent out to all Food train Service Users regarding arrangements over the Christmas and New Year period.

The Food Train Stirling office will be closed Wednesday 25th December, Thursday 26th December and Wednesday 1st January and Thursday 2nd January.

Roads Winter Services

The Winter Service forms an integral part of the management and maintenance of Stirling Council’s road network.  Stirling Council, by virtue of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, has a statutory duty to take such steps as it considers reasonable to prevent snow and ice or indeed the consequences of any other weather condition endangering the safe passage of vehicular and pedestrian traffic over it’s public roads.

We are responsible for providing the Winter Service, on publicly adopted Roads and other identified routes, within the Council area. The Winter Service comprises the following types of treatment:

  • Precautionary Salt Treatment
  • Treatment of Ice
  • Treatment of Snow
  • Treatment of Hard Packed Snow and Ice
  • Flooding Events – Sandbag Policy
