About the school
East Plean Primary School and Nursery School’s new building stands on the site of the original village school. Our new facility enables our nursery and primary 1 to work together effectively. Learning across stages is further enhanced with all classrooms in P2-7 leading into a shared area which we call “the street”.
Our playground to the rear of the school is tiered which promotes outdoor learning and pupil engagement. We have a nurture room which we call the Rainbow Room. This is an area which supports pupils’ health and wellbeing development. We have a large dining area and gym hall which provide ample opportunity for children to be physically active all year round as well as providing an area to showcase learning and achievement with parents and the wider community.
Education Scotland has responsibility for evaluating the quality of pre-school education, all schools, teacher education, community learning and development, further education and local authorities. They also publish reports about services for children and evaluate child protection services.
Each school has it own geographic area called a catchment area. Normally, your child will attend your local catchment school. If you wish your child to attend a school other than the catchment school you are required to make a placing request.
