Bags (Brown Paper) Flatten and place in the green bin
Bags (Plastic Carrier) Grey bin but try to reuse carrier bags when you can or take a local participating supermarket. Do not place in the blue bin. 
Batteries (Domestic) This can be accepted at all Household Waste Recycling Centres or taken to a participating local supermarket. Do not place in any kerbside bins as batteries can cause fires.
Alternatively, return batteries to a local participating retailer.
Batteries (Lead Acid - car batteries) This can be accepted at all Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Batteries (Lithium) This can be accepted at all Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Bicycles These can be re-used if in good condition, donate to a local charity or take to any Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Black hard plastics (plant pots) Recycle at Lower Polmaise Household Waste Recycling Centre. Ask a member of staff to direct you to the hard plastics skip. 
Black plastic (food pots, tubs and trays) Blue bin

Grey bin - Whilst these items are biodegradable, they are unsuitable for producing commercial grade compost such as that made from your brown bin material which is certified to PAS 100 standards. Some types of wood can take longer to decompose which could lower the quality of our compost

Donate to a local charity shop if in good condition or a participating retailer. These can also be taken to any Household Waste Recycling Centres

Cutlery single-use takeaway (Wooden)

Inhalers (medical) Inhalers should not be put in waste bins. Inhalers can not be recycled at Household Waste Recycling Centres. Take them to a pharmacy to be disposed of safely

Insulation (Fibreglass) We are not able to accept fibreglass at any of our Household Waste Recycling Centres or in any of the kerbside bins. Arrange safe disposal with a specialist contractor. The company providing your new fibreglass may be able to provide you with the details of a licensed contractor

Any damaged or broken items can be taken to any of the local Household Waste Recycling Centres and recycled in the scrap metal skip
Pouches (Pet food, baby food, sauces etc) Grey bin

Pet food pouches can be recycled at some participating supermarkets
Prams and Strollers If the pram is in good condition donate to a charity shop or deposit in the Transition Stirling reuse container at Lower Polmaise Household Waste Recycling Centre

If the pram is not fit for use it can be disposed of in the general waste skip or if the metal frame can be separated, this can be deposited within the scrap metals skip
Printer ink cartridges and Toner Return ink cartridges to a local participating retailer.
PVC / UPVC doors, window frames or sheets This can be disposed of at any of the local Household Waste Recycling Centres
Pyrex items Charity shop if the item is in working order.

If the item is broken/suitable for the bin please safely dispose in your grey bin. If the item is broken please wrap it kitchen paper or bubble wrap for example.

Razor Blades Securely dispose in grey bin. Tip: wrap the razors in kitchen paper.
Some companies you buy razor blades from have a take back scheme. Check with the company you buy your razors from. You may even be able to build up reward points from returning your razor blades.

Spectacles/Glasses Your optician will often take old spectacles back and donate them to Vision Aid.

Syringes/Discarded Needles Return these to your local chemist or contact NHS for a sharps bin.
We are unable to accept syringes in any of the household waste bins or at any of our Household Waste Recycling Centres.

Textiles and Clothing If textiles and clothing are in good condition donate them to a local charity shop.
Alternatively clean textiles and clothes in good condition can be recycled at the clothes banks located at any of the Household Waste Recycling Centres.

If the toys are no longer fit for use take them to any of the Household Waste Recycling Centres where a member of staff can offer advise for safe disposal. 
Trays (Foil i.e oven meal trays) Rinse and place in the blue bin. If food stuff cannot be removed from the tray place it in the grey bin.
Tubes (Crisps e.g. Pringles style) Grey bin
Tubes (DIY - Glue/adhesives etc) Grey bin
Tubs (Plastic e.g. chewing gum / confectionery) Blue bin 
Turpentine (White Spirit) We do not accept turpentine in any household bins or Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Find a specialist contractor that has a license to safely dispose of hazardous waste.
TVs and Monitors TV's and monitors can be recycled at any of the local Household Waste Recycling Centres or arrange a Special Uplift
Tyres (Households only) We are unable to accept tyres at any of our recycling centres.
Find a specialist contractor that has a license to safely dispose of tyres.

Vape Paraphernalia Take disposable vapes back to the shop you purchased it.
Alternatively, these can be safely disposed in the small WEEE banks at any of the Local Household Waste Recycling Centres. Do not put vapes in any of your household bins.
VCR Players If your VCR Player is working you can put it in the Transation Stirling reuse container at Lower Polmaise Household Waste Recycling Centre or donate to a local charity shop.

If it is broken you can put it in the small WEEE skip at any of the local Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Wood, timber and MDF We can accept items made entirely from wood in the wood skip at any of the Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Wrappers (cellophane e.g. gifts, flowers, bouquets, hampers)

Try avoid purchasing items covered in soft plastics for example buying loose fruit and veg.

We understand sometimes it is unavoidable so you can recycle soft plastics at any of the local participating retailers.
Otherwise place all soft plastics in the grey bin or within the general waste skips at any of our Household Waste Recycling Centres.
