Request a bigger or an extra bin

Use this form to ask for extra capacity for your household waste or recycling.

What you can request

You can use this form to request either:

  • an extra grey bin (240 litre)
  • a bigger grey bin (360 litre)

The type of grey bin you can ask for will depend on your circumstances.

You can also request:

  • an extra blue bin (240 litre)
  • a bigger green bin (360 litre)
  • an extra brown bin (240 litre)

You need to use a different form if you want to request a new bin, a replacement bin or bin repairs.

If we approve your request, we'll aim to deliver new bins within 21 days.

Before you begin

What we'll ask if you're requesting a grey bin

We'll ask about:

  • the number of people in your household
  • your requirements, such as whether your household produces medical waste

These details will affect whether you can order an extra bin or a bigger bin.

If you want to request more capacity because there are 4 people in your household, you'll need to complete a waste diary. Once you've done this, you can upload it as part of your application.

What we'll ask if you're requesting a blue or green bin

We'll ask if you're sending a request because either:

  • your current recycling bins cannot hold everything
  • you need extra capacity for another reason

If you need extra capacity for another reason, we'll ask you for details.

What we'll ask if you're requesting a brown bin

We'll ask if you're sending a request because either:

  • your current brown bin cannot hold all your food waste
  • your current brown bin cannot hold all your garden waste
  • your current brown bin cannot hold all your food and garden waste
  • you need extra capacity for another reason

If you need extra capacity for garden waste, your second brown bin must have a garden waste permit. You can still request the bin using this form, but we'll ask you to confirm that you understand this.

If you need extra capacity for food waste only, you do not need a garden waste permit.
