Special uplifts

If you have bulky items you want to get rid of, you can request a special uplift. Find out prices and dates.

How much it costs

Stirling Council provides a kerbside collection service for bulky household items. Collections cost £48.80 for up to 5 items. 

Collections booked from 1st April 2024 will cost £53.70 for up to 5 items.

 

Arranging a collection

The easiest way to arrange a collection is to call 01786 404040. Our lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

If you arrange a collection in person, you must pay by card.

 

Putting your waste out

You must put the items to be uplifted on the kerbside outside of your home by 7am on the collection day. We can't collect anything that's in your home, garden, garage or shed.

If you leave any additional items that you didn't include in your uplift request, we won't uplift them.

 

Suspension of free uplifts for over-60s as of the 1 April 2024

Concession is not applicable for any uplifts undertaken from 1st April 2024.

 

What we can collect

Category Type of item
Large appliances Dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, cooker, fire.

We cannot accept storage heaters.
Small appliances Vacuum cleaner, microwave, fan, TV, computer, power washer, kettle, toaster.
Bric-a-brac Ironing board, clothes airier, suitcase, Christmas tree, curtain pole.

Children's items

Large toy, pram, baby bath, cot, buggy, car seat, stair gate.

Floor coverings

Carpet, lino, rug.

Each item must be no larger than 4 metres. Please bundle items together where possible.
Domestic fridges/freezers Must be empty and clean. We accept American wide-fronted units, units with glass-fronted doors, small chest freezers for domestic use.

We cannot accept chest freezers or gas/ammonia units.
Furniture Sofa, chair, table, bed, mattress, headboard, wardrobe, cabinet, fireplace, dining set.

Each piece of furniture will be considered as a separate item.
Garden equipment Lawnmower, strimmer, garden tools, hose, BBQ, bench, table, chair.

Each piece of garden equipment will be considered as a separate item.
Leisure and sports equipment Golf club, bicycle, scooter, fitness equipment.

You can dispose of your bulky household items for free at our household waste and recycling centres.
