Information held in records is one of the Council's most important assets.

The Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 requires Scottish public authorities to prepare a "Records Management Plan" which sets out arrangements for managing their records.

The National Records of Scotland has more information about the timescale for implementation of this legislation.

Stirling Council and Licensing Board participate in an annual self-assessment review of compliance with the Act which is then reviewed by the Keeper of the Records of Scotland. The latest review for Stirling Council and Licensing Board can be found here.
