There are lots of ways to get involved and make a difference in your community or local area.
Being involved in local community planning
Local community plans are a way of a community identifying issues and priorities for their area. Local community groups can then come together to create a plan to take these forward.
Being involved in your Community Council
Community councils are groups of people who care about their own communities and want to make their area a better place to live. They represent the views of local people and convey these views to the Council and other public bodies. They have an important role in local democracy and in the planning process.
Being involved in your Council
As a Council, we encourage communities and individuals to be involved in how we work in various ways for example through consultations, the Budgeting process and panels.
