About the school
Crianlarich Primary School serves the communities of Crianlarich, Tyndrum and includes provision for pupils in the Bridge of Orchy catchment area. The drive from Stirling takes just over an hour. The school is set amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland.
The present school, which is less than thirty years old, is in the centre of the village and comprises two classrooms and a multi-purpose area, which serves as classroom, computer suite and dining room. Lunches are cooked in the school kitchen, which is off the dining room. The school grounds have been enhanced in recent years with specific areas set aside to encourage wildlife and environmental education as well as to increase play opportunities for both the school children and the nursery, which is adjacent in the former schoolhouse.
Education Scotland has responsibility for evaluating the quality of pre-school education, all schools, teacher education, community learning and development, further education and local authorities. They also publish reports about services for children and evaluate child protection services.
Each school has it own geographic area called a catchment area. Normally, your child will attend your local catchment school. If you wish your child to attend a school other than the catchment school you are required to make a placing request.
