About the school
Bridge of Allan Primary School serves the mainly residential town of Bridge of Allan and the adjacent Stirling University Campus.
Bridge of Allan lies two miles north of Stirling with nearby access to motorway connections. Glasgow and Edinburgh are approximately 30 miles away and the town has its own railway station with direct and frequent links to these two cities.
The school is situated on the southern edge of the town. It was built in 1965 to replace the original village school. It stands in a former orchard and there are generous grass and tarmac areas for outdoor activities.
Bridge of Allan Primary School has a large hall, and this and other classrooms are leased to the community in the evenings. There is close liaison with local associated primary schools and Wallace High School.
Education Scotland has responsibility for evaluating the quality of pre-school education, all schools, teacher education, community learning and development, further education and local authorities. They also publish reports about services for children and evaluate child protection services.
Each school has it own geographic area called a catchment area. Normally, your child will attend your local catchment school. If you wish your child to attend a school other than the catchment school you are required to make a placing request.
