The Returners programme is a Scottish Government funded pilot programme to develop fair work for everyone. It aims to address the gender pay gap in Scotland and encourage employers to adopt fair working practices. Whilst the programme is aimed at women returners, men will not be excluded where they meet the criteria.
We have secured funding to support up to six returners in Stirling to provide relevant learning opportunities and a paid placement. The project will also work with local employers to raise awareness of living wage accreditation, Carer Positive and Family friendly policies.
The target groups for the project are:
- Carers and former carers
- Lone Parents
- Women Returners aged 50+
- Returners who have taken time out of the workplace for any reason
- Returners who have been out of work for a minimum of 2 years
- Aged 25+
Returners should be able to commit to the programme which will run until the end of April 2018 and should not be eligible for funding elsewhere. The project will explore skills and past work experience, flexible work requirements, provide a paid placement of up to 12 weeks in an area of interest to the returners, support with CVs, job applications and interviews.
